1 cow brain (with sinews and membranes removed), 1 rooster gizzard (with skin and yellow membrane intact).

Processing

Soak both in fine wine overnight, then pound into a paste. Add 3 liang each of wood fragrant, agarwood, and cardamom, along with one bowl of skin-softening agent. Pound 1,000 times with a pestle, transfer to a raw copper pot, and dry over alternating low and high heat until powdered. Then add 3 qian of mercury oxide and mix thoroughly.

Take 2 qian per dose, mixed with rice wine on an empty stomach, three times a day.
