Causes and TCM Dietary Solutions for Painful Ejaculation

Pain occurring in any part of the penis, urethra, perineum, above the scrotum, or lower abdomen during ejaculation is called ejaculatory pain. If not supports promptly, ejaculatory pain can affect the continuation of sexual intercourse, thereby helps maintain sexual satisfaction from being achieved.

I.Causes of painful ejaculation

1.Chronic inflammation of the reproductive organs

The primary cause of painful ejaculation is inflammation resulting from infection in the main organs involved in the ejaculation process. Conditions such as prostatitis, seminal vesiculitis, vasitis, and urethritis can lead to pain during ejaculation due to the rhythmic muscular contractions that occur, which exacerbate the inflammatory pain.

In addition, urinary stones, tumors of the penis or other reproductive organs, etc., can also cause ejaculatory pain, but this is rare.

2.Excessive frequency of sexual intercourse

The prostate gland requires a certain period of rest to secrete sufficient fluid necessary for a second ejaculation. If sexual intercourse occurs too frequently, especially with consecutive ejaculations over a short period, it can force the prostate and other secretory glands into overexertion, leading to pain.

3. TCM understanding of the etiology of painful ejaculation

In traditional Chinese medicine, this wellness is often considered to be caused by excessive sexual activity leading to Kidney Yin Deficiency; or Kidney qi deficiency resulting in qi and blood stagnation; or exposure to external damp-heat pathogens, causing damp-heat to accumulate in the lower energizer.

II.Syndrome Differentiation and Dietary Therapy

1.Damp-heat pouring downward

Exposure to pathogenic factors such as heat-toxin, damp-heat, and turbid filth flows downward to the bladder; or overindulgence in rich, sweet, alcoholic, and hot foods damages the Spleen and stomach, disrupts their transportation and transformation functions, accumulates dampness, generates heat, and causes it to flow downward to the bladder. Abnormal vaporization in the bladder leads to obstruction of the spermatic duct. Consequently, pain is felt during ejaculation, accompanied by scanty and dribbling urine or complete urinary obstruction, dark yellow urine, thirst without a desire to drink, red tongue with a yellow coating, and a slippery and rapid pulse. The supports principle is to clear heat and resolve dampness, and Talc Porridge can be taken.

Formula and Preparation Method: Talcum 30 grams, Dianthi Herba 15 grams. Decoct in water, remove the dregs, retain the liquid. Add 100 grams of Nongli Rice, cook as a regular porridge. When it is nearly cooked, add a small amount of salt and 10 grams of Allii Fistulosi Bulbus. Continue cooking until it forms a porridge-like consistency, then it is ready to be consumed.

In the formula, scallion white (Cong Bai) unblocks the orifices, talc and broomtops (Hu Shi and Qu Mai) clear heat and promote diuresis, and japonica rice (Jing Mi) benefits the Spleen and harmonizes the stomach, and is able to

One can also consume red adzuki bean porridge. Formula and preparation method: 250 grams of red adzuki beans (washed), 30 grams of fermented soybeans (douchi). Put both into a pot, cook into porridge, season with salt, and it is ready to be consumed.

In the formula, adzuki bean (Vigna umbellata Ohwi et Ohashi) is sweet and neutral in nature and flavor, capable of strengthening the Spleen, promoting diuresis, dispersing stasis, and detoxifying to remove endogenous dampness; fermented soybean (Semen Sojae Preparatum) is cold in nature and bitter and sweet in flavor, able to reduce inflammation and fever, harmonize the stomach, and eliminate restlessness, removing exogenous heat. The two herbs together have the effects of clearing heat, promoting diuresis, and relieving restlessness.

In addition, heat-clearing and dampness-draining dietary prescriptions can be selected for consumption .

2.Yin Deficiency with exuberant fire

The individual has a constitutional Yin Deficiency, or engages in excessive sexual activity, or suffers from yin injury due to febrile wellness, or has a prolonged wellness affecting the Kidneys, resulting in damage to Kidney yin that extends to the Liver. Without yin to restrain yang, the “dragon-thunder fire” rises, disrupting normal qi transformation and impairing the urinary pathways. This leads to painful ejaculation accompanied by scanty, yellowish-red urine with difficult urination, thirst, dry stools, a red tongue with scanty saliva, and a thin, rapid pulse. The supports principle is to nourish yin and subdue fire, and the individual may consume Corn Silk Stewed Clam Meat.

Formula and Preparation Method: 50 grams of Corn Silk (Stigma Maydis), 10 grams of Licorice Root (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), 200 grams of freshwater mussel meat, an appropriate amount of cooking wine, refined salt, scallion sections, ginger slices, Sichuan peppercorns, and pork. First, clean the freshwater mussel meat by removing its internal organs and impurities. Then, place the Corn Silk, Licorice Root, freshwater mussel meat, scallion sections, ginger slices, Sichuan peppercorns, cooking wine, refined salt (use as little as possible), and pork into a pot together. Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer over low heat until the mussel meat is thoroughly cooked and flavorful. Remove the Corn Silk, Licorice Root, scallions, and ginger, adjust the seasoning, and serve. Consume once daily for 1 week.

The clam meat in the formula is rich in proteins, calcium, phosphorus, vitamins, etc. It can clear heat, nourish yin, tonify the Kidney, and nourish the Liver. Corn silk can soothe the Liver, promote bile flow, induce diuresis, and reduce swelling. When combined with licorice root, which helps with occasional spasms and helps with occasional pain, these ingredients work together to nourish yin, subdue fire, helps with occasional spasms, and helps with occasional pain.

One can also consume congee cooked with Rehmannia. Recipe and preparation method: Take 500 grams of fresh Rehmannia juice and 125 grams of white honey, boil them together to form a paste and set it aside for later use. Cook 100 grams of japonica rice to make congee. When the congee is cooked, add 2 spoons of the Rehmannia paste and a small amount of ghee for consumption.

In the formula, Rehmanniae Radix (Sheng Di) clears heat, nourishes yin, and cools blood; Honey (Feng Mi) tonifies the middle-jiao, moistens dryness, helps with occasional pain, and detoxifies; Japonica Rice (Geng Mi) harmonizes the stomach and dispels restlessness. For those with severe deficiency of body fluids, Scrophulariae Radix (Xuan Shen) 200 grams and Morindae Fructus (Sang Shen) 200 grams can be added to make a decoction paste.
