Rehmannia glutinosa 180 g, Ophiopogon japonicus 160 g, Scrophularia ningpoensis 260 g, Forsythia suspensa 315 g, Scutellaria baicalensis 315 g.

Processing

Grind the above five ingredients into a coarse powder. Using the percolation method with 57% ethanol as the solvent, macerate for 24 hours. Then, slowly percolate at a rate of approximately 1 milliliter per minute, collecting approximately 6,000 milliliters of percolate. Recover the ethanol under reduced pressure and concentrate to approximately 1,400 milliliters. Remove the concentrate, add 800 milliliters of water,boil for 30 minutes, let stand for 48 hours, filter, wash the filter residue once with a small amount of water, combine the washings with the filtrate, concentrate under reduced pressure to approximately 1,000 mL, add 3 g of sodium benzoate, stir well, let stand for 24 hours, filter, add water to a total volume of 1,000 mL, stir well, and the preparation is ready.

Instructions for Use

Oral administration: 20 mL for the first dose, followed by 10–15 mL per dose, four times daily; dosage should be reduced appropriately for children.
