Drug Formulation

2 liang of Starch Flower (East), 1 liang of Cinnamon (South), 1 liang of Dried Ginger (West), 1 liang of Croton Seed (North), 1 liang of Sulfur (Center), a small amount of Musk.

Processing

Take the above six ingredients; place five of them in a dish and leave them exposed to the open air in the central courtyard for seven nights. On the fifth day, remove the shells from the croton seeds, boil them in water for 30–50 boils, then pound and grind the remaining herbs into a powder. Add the musk, mix the starch flower powder with a thin wheat flour paste to form pills the size of cherries, bake them dry, and store them in a box, ensuring they remain free from contamination.

Instructions for Use

On the day of an attack, wash your hands, wrap the pill in cotton, and heat it over incense smoke until warm. For men, place it in the left ear; for women, in the right. Insert it into the ear in advance; remove it when you have a bowel movement, wash your hands, and then reinsert it into the ear.

Note

Avoid all meat, pungent foods, and fruits.
