Drug Formulation

1 liang 8 qian of fresh Rehmannia root (pounded to extract juice), 8 qian of light fermented soybeans, 1 liang of Isatis root, 4 qian of Trichosanthes root, 1 liang 6 qian of honeysuckle, 4 qian of red litchi root, 1 liang of manure filtrate (i.e., “golden juice”), 7 qian of Beijing scrophularia, 1 liang of forsythia, and 2 qian of rhinoceros horn.

Processing

Sun-dry all herbs and grind them into a powder; strictly avoid roasting them over fire. Grind to a fine consistency, then mix with rhinoceros horn, Rehmannia juice, and manure whey to form pills by pounding and rolling; do not add honey under any circumstances.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 qian per dose, washed down with hot water, twice daily; tea may be used as a substitute.
