7 TCM Recipes for Frequent urination, Spermatorrhea and Impotence

1.Dioscorea Opposita Porridge

[Source] Yixue Zhongzhong Canxi Lu

[Functions] Strengthen the Spleen and nourish the stomach, replenish qi and blood.

[Indications] Spermatorrhea, involuntary seminal emission, frequent urination and other signs of imbalance caused by weakness of the Spleen and stomach and deficiency of qi and blood.

[Formula] 30 grams of Rhizoma Dioscoreae (Chinese yam), 50 grams of Glutinous rice, an appropriate amount of Brown sugar.

[Preparation Method] Peel the Chinese yam, slice it, and dry it in the sun. Put it into a casserole together with glutinous rice and granulated sugar, and simmer over low heat until the porridge is cooked, the soup is thick, and there is porridge oil on the surface.

[Usage] Take it warm with breakfast and dinner. It can be taken for a long term.

2.Dioscorea opposita Noodles

[Source] Yinshan Zhengyao

[Functions] Strengthen the Spleen and consolidate the Kidney.

[Indications] Spleen-deficiency diarrhea, chronic dysentery, spermatorrhea, leukorrhea, frequent urination, and other signs of imbalance.

[Formula] 1500 grams of Rhizoma Dioscoreae (Chinese yam), 300 grams of wheat flour, 10 eggs, 5 grams of Fresh Ginger, 200 grams of bean starch, and appropriate amounts of salt, monosodium glutamate, pepper, lard, and green onion.

[Preparation Method] Place wheat flour, Chinese yam powder, and bean powder in a basin and mix thoroughly. Add an appropriate amount of eggs, water, and salt, then knead into a dough. Roll the dough into thin sheets and cut into noodles following the conventional method. Add water to an aluminum pot, along with lard, scallions, and ginger, and bring to a boil. Add the noodles, then stir in monosodium glutamate and salt until well combined.

[Usage] Take at will.

2.Chinese Yam Glutinous Rice Balls

[Functions] Strengthen the Spleen and tonify the Kidney.

[Indications] Spermatorrhea and involuntary seminal emission.

[Formula] 150 grams each of fresh Chinese yam and white sugar, 250 grams of glutinous rice flour.

[Preparation Method] Wash the Chinese yam, steam until cooked, peel it, place it in a bowl, add a small amount of white sugar and ground pepper, and crush it into a filling. Knead glutinous rice flour with boiling water to form a soft dough, then wrap the Chinese yam filling with the dough to make sweet dumplings. Cook until done.

[Usage] Take at will.

3.Chinese Yam and Poria Cocos Steamed Buns

[Source] Ru Men Shi Qin

[Functions] Nourishes the Spleen and stomach, tonifies the Kidneys and stabilizes essence.

[Indications] Spleen and stomach dysfunction, reduced food intake, frequent urination, spermatorrhea, enuresis, and other syndromes.

[Formula] 100 grams each of Rhizoma Dioscoreae powder and Poria powder, 200 grams of wheat flour, 300 grams of white sugar, and a small amount of lard, green and red shreds (or fruit ingredients) respectively.

[Preparation Method] Place Chinese yam powder and Poria cocos powder in a large bowl, add an appropriate amount of water, soak to form a paste, then steam for half an hour. Mix in an appropriate amount of flour, white sugar, a little lard, and shredded green and red candied fruits to make the filling. Take soft dough that has been fermented and had its alkalinity adjusted, wrap it around the filling to form steamed buns, and steam until cooked.

[Usage] Take freely as desired.

4.Dog Meat Congee

[Functions] Warm and tonify the Spleen and stomach, nourish and supplement Kidney qi.

[Indications] Nourishment and supports for epigastric and abdominal cold pain, reduced food intake, cold limbs due to Spleen-stomach deficiency-cold, as well as spermatorrhea, frequent urination with large volume, and general weakness.

[Formula] 200 – 250 grams of yellow dog meat, 400 – 500 grams of foxtail millet.

[Preparation Method] Slice the dog meat, wash the millet, add water to cook porridge, then add the dog meat, an appropriate amount of salt, and fermented black beans. When the meat is cooked and the millet is soft, it is ready to eat.

[Usage] Consume at will, or take it as a side dish with meals.

5.Crispy Fried Chinese Yam

[Functions] Strengthen the Spleen and stomach, nourish the Lung and Kidney.

[Indications] Spleen-deficiency diarrhea, cough due to consumptive wellness, spermatorrhea, frequent urination, and other signs of imbalance.

[Formula] Rhizoma Dioscoreae 500 grams, white sugar 125 grams, bean flour 100 grams, vegetable oil 750 grams (actual consumption 150 grams), vinegar 30 grams, monosodium glutamate 3 grams.

[Preparation Method] Wash the fresh Dioscorea opposita Thunb. (Chinese yam), steam it in a steamer until thoroughly cooked and soft, then remove it, peel it, and cut it into 4-centimeter-long sections. Split each section into two pieces and flatten them with a knife. Heat a wok, pour in vegetable oil, and when the oil is heated to about 70% of its maximum temperature, add the Chinese yam. Remove the yam when it turns golden brown and set it aside for later use. Heat the wok again, add the fried Chinese yam, then add sugar and water. Simmer over low heat for 5 to 6 minutes, then increase the heat to high, add vinegar and monosodium glutamate, and thicken with bean starch paste. Drizzle with cooked oil, remove from heat, and transfer to a serving dish.

[Usage] Take freely as desired, or consume as a dietary accompaniment.

6.Steamed Chicken with Ginseng

[Functions] Powerfully replenishes primordial qi, stabilizes and helps maintain prostration, generates body fluids, and calms the mind.

[Indications] signs of imbalance such as fatigue and injury due to overstrain, deficiency damage, dizziness, headache, impotence, frequent urination, poor appetite, fatigue, forgetfulness, and deficiency of qi, blood, body fluids, etc.

[Formula] Ginseng 15 g, 1 hen, ham 10 g, soaked magnolia petal slices 10 g, soaked shiitake mushrooms 15 g, appropriate amounts of refined salt, cooking wine, monosodium glutamate, green onion, ginger, and chicken broth

[Preparation Method] Slaughter the hen, remove its feathers, open its belly to take out the intestines and other impurities, then scald it briefly in a pot of boiling water and rinse it with cold water. Slice the ham, magnolia petal slices, shiitake mushrooms, scallions, and ginger. Soak ginseng in boiling water, steam it in a steamer for 30 minutes, and then take it out. Clean the hen again, place it in a basin, and add the ginseng, ham, magnolia petal slices, shiitake mushrooms, scallions, ginger, refined salt, and cooking wine.

Add monosodium glutamate to the chicken broth (enough to submerge the chicken), place the chicken in a steamer basket, and steam it over high heat until thoroughly cooked and tender. Place the steamed chicken in a large bowl, finely chop the ginseng and arrange it, along with the ham, sliced bamboo shoots, and shiitake mushrooms, on top of the chicken (discard the scallions and ginger). Pour the broth from steaming the chicken into a saucepan, bring it to a boil over heat, skim off any foam, adjust the seasoning to taste, and then pour it over the chicken. The dish is now ready.

[Usage] Take freely as desired, or consume alongside meals.
