Commentary
Kudzu root (Ge-gen) functions as the chief herb; cool and sweet, pungent in character, it enters the Spleen, Stomach meridians, working chiefly to releases the exterior, generate fluids, raise yang and stop diarrhea. Peach kernels (Tao-ren) act as the deputy ingredient; neutral and bitter, sweet in character, it travels through the Heart, Liver, Large Intestine meridians to activate blood, resolve stasis and moisten the intestines. Without a separate harmonizing herb, the herbal tea formula balance is achieved through the mutual tempering of its active ingredients. Working as one, the formula promote blood circulation and dispel blood stasis, relax tendons and unblock meridians, thereby targeting the blood and qi pattern that underlies the complaint.
