Red and white peony root (equal parts) 4 fen, Angelica sinensis 4 fen, raw rhubarb 2 fen, licorice 3 fen.

For children with abdominal pain due to fetal cold, irregular breastfeeding, warm and robust fever, erratic vomiting and diarrhea, spasms in various meridians, the twenty-five types of epilepsy, a tendency for skin sores that flare up seasonally, mouth sores and malignant nodules, red eyes and jaundiced emaciation, and various forms of "bianzheng" (alternating heat and cold).

Instructions for Use

Decoct the above ingredients in 3 sheng of water; strain and take the liquid. For infants under one month old, administer a dose the size of an apricot kernel; for infants aged 300 days, administer a dose the size of a chestnut shell; for children aged 1–2 years, administer two chestnut shells; for children aged 3 years and older, increase the dose accordingly. Take three times daily. If the child experiences convulsions or a warm, robust fever accompanied by external exposure to cold pathogens, remove the nodes from the Ma Huang and use 1 fen; boil it in 3 sheng of water, skim off the foam and dregs, then add the main formula and decoct as above;If convulsions are accompanied by the head tilting backward and the eyes rolling upward, add 4 fen of Asarum, add one dose of the main formula, increase the water to 4 sheng, boil down to 1 sheng 5 he, and administer; if a stroke causes the body to stiffen and the eyes to roll upward, add 2 fen of Angelica pubescens, add one dose of the main formula, add water, and boil before administering.
