Drug Formulation

1 black rooster; 1 liang of ginseng (root tip removed); 1 liang of white atractylodes; 1 liang of stone bed; 1 liang of peony bark; 1 liang of astragalus; 1 liang of evodia; half a liang of cardamom; half a liang of corydalis; half a liang of prepared dried rehmannia (washed and roasted); half a liang of wood fragrant; half a liang of amber; half a liang of nutmeg; 2 liang of aged tangerine peel;2 liang of safflower, 2 liang of Sichuan aconite (roasted), 2 liang of sea-tong bark, 2 liang of white peony root, 2 liang of aconite root (roasted, with skin and navel removed), 2 liang of cinnamon bark (with coarse bark removed), 2 liang of Ponghuo zhu, 1.5 liang of Atractylodes lancea (soaked in rice water, sliced, and roasted).

Processing

Finely chop the above ingredients. Take one black-boned chicken, scald it to remove the feathers and internal organs, then place the chopped herbs inside the chicken’s cavity. Place the chicken in a new porcelain pot with one dou of good-quality wine, and simmer until the liquid has evaporated. Remove the chicken bones, transfer the contents to an oil-coated cloth, bake until dry, and grind into a fine powder. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of a paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 30 pills per dose: for typhoid fever before or after childbirth, take with honey-infused wine; for shortness of breath and high fever before childbirth, take with wine infused with stir-fried ginger; for red or white vaginal discharge, take with wine infused with fresh ginger and rehmannia; for postpartum blood stasis attacking the heart, take with wine infused with children’s urine and stir-fried ginger;for postpartum blood clots causing a throbbing sensation and pain in the chest and abdomen, take with wine mixed with fried ginger and a child’s urine; for nausea and vomiting before childbirth, take with ginger soup; to induce labor, take with wine mixed with fried mallow seeds; to stabilize the pregnancy, take with salted wine; for unmarried women with blocked menstrual channels and pain in the limbs, take with wine decocted with safflower;For stabbing pain caused by blood and qi stagnation with pain in the chest and abdomen, take with decocted Angelica wine; for blood-induced fainting, take with wine mixed with palm ash; for blood-related pathogenic factors, take with wine mixed with ground cinnabar and musk; for blood-induced oppression, take with decocted black plum soup mixed with ground cinnabar; for chronic uterine cold, take with warm wine or jujube soup, once daily on an empty stomach; for blood-wind exhaustion, take with ginseng wine;Pain in the chest and abdomen: take with wine mixed with salt and roasted fennel; Blood dispersing to the limbs, accompanied by generalized weakness, swelling, and jaundice: take with wine mixed with adzuki beans; For regular use, take with warm wine or vinegar soup, on an empty stomach before meals.
