Formulas Name : Chen’s Black Beard Pills
Chinese Name : 陈氏乌须丸
Drug Formulation
1 jin of mulberries (steamed until tender and sun-dried; if not steamed, they will not dry properly—but do not use iron utensils; steaming in a rice cooker is safe), 1 jin of raw red Polygonum multiflorum (sliced, steamed in a rice cooker, and sun-dried; repeating this process nine times is ideal), 1 jin of southern candlestick tree leaves (also steamed in a rice cooker until tender and sun-dried; if left to dry naturally without steaming, they are useless), 1 jin of prepared rehmannia root, half a jin of ophiopogon tuber,Sichuan pepper (shells and skins removed) 2 liang (use 2 liang of rice for every 4 liang of Sichuan pepper), ginkgo nuts 1 liang, Atractylodes macrocephala 1 jin.
