Instructions for Use

Take 6 jin of sesame oil, add the medicinal powder, and let it steep for 5 days. Decoct, strain out the residue, and decoct again until a drop of the liquid forms a bead. Add 4 liang of concentrated Tathagata powder and 2 jin 4 liang of refined cinnabar. Simmer until the consistency is neither too hard nor too soft, then store. Bury the mixture underground for 3 days to remove its fiery toxicity, then apply as a poultice according to the condition; or make into pills the size of beans, taking 7 pills at a time with boiling water.For unilateral or bilateral headaches, apply to the affected area or roll into a strip to insert into the nose; for redness and swelling of the eyes, prick the area above the ear with a needle to draw blood and then apply the ointment; for corneal opacities or ingrown eyelashes, apply to the affected area; for single or double tonsillar abscesses or laryngeal obstruction, apply to the affected area and let the ointment dissolve in the mouth; for swelling of the head and face, or wind-fire toothache, apply to the affected area; for nine types of heart, stomach, and abdominal pain, apply to the affected area; in severe cases, make into pills and swallow with boiling water;For stroke, pry open the mouth with chopsticks, form into pills, and swallow with boiling water; for malaria, apply to the navel; in severe cases, form into pills and take with hot wine; for dysentery, apply to the epigastric region; if not cured, for bloody dysentery, crush 7 longans (including shells and pits) and decoct in water to take with the pills; for white dysentery, crush 7 lychees (including shells and pits) and decoct in water to take with the pills; for mixed red and white dysentery, use both;For consumptive diseases with parasitic infestation, apply to the Jiaji, Weilu, and navel points, and drink licorice decoction; for coughing with phlegm, apply to the front and back of the chest; for abdominal distension, apply below the navel and at the Dantian, and take the pills; for dysphagia, apply to the epigastric region and take the pills; for phlegm-fire asthma, apply to the front and back of the chest and take the pills;For constipation or urinary retention, apply to the navel and take the pills; for typhoid fever, take the pills with scallion soup—recovery occurs after one episode of sweating; for those who have not had a bowel movement for 6–7 days, take the pills; for women with red or white vaginal discharge, apply to the Dantian; for difficult childbirth or retained placenta, make into pills and take with hot wine; for blood clots or abdominal masses, apply to the affected area; for robust individuals, make into pills and take orally;For infantile convulsions, make a strip to insert into the nose and take the pills orally; for malnutrition in children, apply to the navel; for swollen abscesses and malignant sores, apply to the affected area and take the pills; for chronic sores that have not healed for 10 years, apply a poultice, wash and change it daily, and it will be completely cured in 10 days;For hemorrhoids and fistulas: for internal hemorrhoids, roll into a strip and insert; for external hemorrhoids, apply topically; for bloody stools, intestinal itching, nocturnal emissions, and leukorrhea, apply to the navel; for hemoptysis and epistaxis, apply to the soles of both feet and drink licorice decoction.

Note

For coughing and expectoration, do not swallow the preparation; contraindicated for pregnant women.
