Drug Formulation

Cassia seeds 3 liang, Euphorbia seeds (husked) 3 liang, Notopterygium root (stem removed) 3 liang, Lycopodium 3 liang, Asarum root (stems removed) 5 liang, Oyster shell (washed, calcined to powder) 5 liang, Coptis root (stems removed) 5 liang, Tribulus fruit (roasted, tips removed) 5 liang, Saposhnikovia root (stem removed) 5 liang,Cinnamon Bark (with coarse bark removed) 5 liang, Chrysanthemum Flowers (cleaned) 5 liang, Poria (peeled) 4 liang,1 spotted dove (skin, feathers, intestines, beak, and claws removed; roasted with bones over alternating high and low heat until dry), 1 goat liver (sliced thinly and roasted until charred), 2 sheng Schisandra berries (rinsed, placed in a silk bag, steamed in a rice steamer for one fu-shi, then sun-dried).

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder, mix with refined honey, and form into pills the size of a paulownia seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 15–20 pills per dose on an empty stomach, at noon, and before bedtime, washed down with warm water or warm wine, three times a day. For chronic internal or external eye cataracts unresponsive to other treatments, gradually increase the dose to 50 pills; for sudden redness and pain in the eyes, take 20 pills after a meal, washed down with Jingjie Decoction.
