Drug Formulation
2 qian of purified mercury oxide (roasted until the luster diminishes by two-thirds, then ground into a fine powder.Note: Roasting this ingredient slightly reduces its potency; however, over-roasting may render it ineffective. The heat should be moderate; use large pieces of purified mercury oxide), 1 qian of purified red powder (ground to a fine powder; use only those with a high proportion of purplish-black particles for the formula to be effective), 1 bee hive (about the size of a fist; use half of a large one or two small ones.Roast until half black and half yellow, then grind into a fine powder; when roasting, press it firmly against the pot with an object), 10 walnuts (remove the shells, crush them, roast until half black and half yellow, grind into a fine powder, wrap in several layers of paper, and press out the oil; if there is too much oil, it is unsuitable for making pills).

Instructions for Use
Take the pills early in the morning on an empty stomach with boiled water; do not eat or drink until the afternoon. After taking the pills, hold a willow twig in your mouth; if phlegm or saliva appears, spit it out—the more you spit out, the better.While sleeping, hold the willow stick horizontally in your mouth, with a string tied to each end; tie the ends of the two strings together at the back of your head to prevent it from falling out while you sleep. You must also change the willow stick frequently; continue doing so even after finishing the medication. Do not remove the willow stick from your mouth until you no longer expel phlegm. Take this medicine once a day; if nausea is severe, take it every other day.When preparing this medicine, you must do it yourself. Weigh the mercury oxide and red powder with extreme precision; use the standard scales in the warehouse as the reference. The mercury oxide must be weighed accurately before being roasted.
