Drug Formulation

4 liang of ginger, 4 liang of scallions, 4 liang of Chinese chives,4 liang of garlic, 4 liang of hibiscus bark, 2 jin of sesame oil, 1 jin of lard, 2 liang of rhubarb, 2 liang of angelica root, 2 liang of peach kernels, 2 liang of safflower, 2 liang of Sichuan aconite, 2 liang of wild aconite, 2 liang of notopterygium, 2 liang of angelica pubescens, 2 liang of red peony root, 2 liang of sappan wood, 2 liang of bone-mending herb, 2 liang of acanthopanax bark, 2 liang of sweet solomonseal, 2 liang of galangal (soaked and simmered).

Processing

Take 2 jin of oil and decoct 1 jin of tangled hair (do not wash) until dry. Combine with the aforementioned herbs in a single pot and simmer further. Add 1 jin of cinnabar to thicken the mixture, then gradually add 5 jin of ground colophony until thickened. Next, add 4 liang of earth beetle (roasted until black),3 liang of calcined dragon bone, 1 liang of dragon’s blood, and 2 liang each of vinegar-calcined native copper, frankincense, myrrh, roasted tiger bone, and cassia bark. Grind 1 liang of dragon’s blood into a separate powder, then mix everything thoroughly.
