Formulas Name : Ox Bile Decoction

Chinese Name : 牛黄饮

Drug Formulation

Ox Bile (ground separately and added) 3 fen, Ginseng 2 liang, Fermented Soybeans (stir-fried) 3 he, Cimicifuga 1 liang, Iron Ore (pounded, ground, and added separately) 1 liang, Dragon Bone 2 liang, White Poria (black skin removed) 2 liang, Gardenia Seeds 1 liang, Asparagus Root (core removed, roasted) 2 liang, Ophiopogon Tuber (core removed, roasted) 3 liang.

Processing

Except for the ingredient to be ground separately, coarsely grind the remaining herbs.

For wind-induced palpitations, mental confusion, and hemiplegia.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 qian per dose, add 1 zhan of water, decoct until reduced to 7 fen, strain out the residue, add a small amount of Jingli, decoct again until boiling, then add equal amounts of牛黄 and iron ore powder (each half a zi), mix well, and take warm at noon and before bedtime.
