Drug Formulation

Red alum (to prepare: wrap half a jin of green alum in paper, place it inside the toe of an old rush sandal, seal the opening with another piece of the sandal, tie it securely, and calcine over charcoal until it glows red; let cool, then remove—this is the finished product) 4 liang; Cyperus rotundus 4 liang; Poria cocos 2 liang; Alisma orientale 2 liang; mugwort thread 1 liang (boil in a jar with 1 bowl of vinegar, then dry in the sun and grind into a powder).

Processing

Form the above herbs into pills using stale rice, each the size of a Paulownia seed. Grind the ingredients of Siwu Decoction (1 liang each) along with 3 qian of Wood Fragrance into a powder to coat the pills.
