Drug Formulation

Soft-shelled Turtle Carapace (remove frills; roast with vinegar until yellow) 2 liang; Rhubarb (roasted, coarsely chopped) 1 liang; Areca Nut 1 liang; Aconite Root (roasted until cracked, remove skin and pith) 1 liang; Barley Bran (roasted) 1 liang; Eucommia Bark (coarsely chopped) 3 fen; Terminalia Chebula (roasted, pitted) 3 fen;Saussurea (chopped) 3 fen, Atractylodes macrocephala (chopped) 3 fen, Cinnamon (with coarse bark removed) 3 fen, Curcuma zedoaria (roasted, chopped) 3 fen, Curcuma zedoaria (roasted, chopped) 3 fen, Fructus Aurantii (pulp removed, fried with wheat bran) half liang, Evodia (fried) half liang.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Then take 3 liang of realgar (finely ground) and 3 sheng of vinegar (filtered to remove sediment). Divide the herbal powder equally; mix one half with the realgar, stir well, and simmer in a cauldron until it becomes a paste. Form the remaining powder into pills the size of a tung tree seed.

Take 20 pills per dose, washed down with a decoction of stir-fried ginger on an empty stomach.
