Chinese Name : 柳枝当归膏
Drug Formulation
Angelica root tips (thin, pointed tips, soaked in water) 1 liang; apricot kernels (soaked, with skins and tips removed) 100; orpiment (finely ground, washed with water) 6 liang; plump, tender willow twigs 3.5 liang (cut into 1-cun lengths, washed thoroughly with water, and dried); plump, tender peach twigs 1.5 liang (washed thoroughly and dried); sesame oil 1 jin.

Processing
First, heat the oil; add the angelica root tips and willow twigs and simmer until half-charred. Wrap the angelica root and apricot kernels in cotton, then simmer them together until the peach and willow twigs are blackened and charred. Remove the herbal residue, filter the oil until clear, and wipe away any residue or impurities from the pot. Return the oil to the heat and bring it to a boil; gradually add the orpiment while stirring, simmering until it does not disperse when dropped into water, or until it spreads evenly when applied to paper.
