Commentary
Black fungus (Mu-er) act as the chief herb. Sweet-neutral in property, it travels through the Lung, Stomach, Liver, Large Intestine meridians, and works to nourish blood, moisten dryness and stop bleeding. Dong’e ejiao (Dong-e E-jiao) serves as the deputy herb; neutral and sweet in character, it travels through the Liver, Kidney, Lung meridians to nourish blood, stop bleeding and moisten the lung.
