Drug Formulation

Half liang of Sichuan Cimicifuga, half liang of Sichuan Rheum, half liang of Sedum, half liang of Snake’s Mouth, half liang of Gardenia seeds, half liang of Cold Water Stone, half liang of Sichuan芒消, half liang of Indigo leaves, half liang of Raw Rehmannia, half liang of Plantain root, half liang of Antelope horn shavings, half liang of Paulownia bark.

Processing

Finely chop the ingredients, soak them in bamboo sap overnight, strain the mixture the next day, and return it to a pot. Add 1 jin of pork lard from the twelfth lunar month and simmer over low heat for one meal’s duration. While still hot, strain through cotton to remove the dregs. Allow to cool until it forms a paste, then store in a porcelain jar.
