Commentary
Taking broad-leaved seaweed (Kun-bu) as the chief herb, the formula draws on its salty flavor and cold property: it enters the Liver, Stomach, Kidney meridians and works to soften hardness, dissipate nodules and promote urination. Without a separate harmonizing herb, the herbal tea formula balance is achieved through the mutual tempering of its active ingredients. Working as one, the formula resolve phlegm and disperse nodules, thereby targeting the goiter pattern that underlies the complaint.
