2 g bee pollen, 10 g Cinnamomum cassia twigs, 2 g Sichuan pepper, 10 g mugwort leaves.

How To Make

Place the last three herbs in a pot with an appropriate amount of water, decoct twice for 20 minutes each time, combine and strain the liquid, then let it cool before stirring in the bee pollen to complete the preparation.

Cinnamomum cassia twigs (Gui-zhi) stand in the deputy (minister) seat; warm and pungent, sweet in character, it travels through the Heart, Lung, Bladder meridians to warm the channels and free yang. Sichuan pepper (Hua-jiao) adds further support, working to warm the middle, disperse cold, relieve pain and kills parasites. Assisting the core, mugwort leaves (Ai-ye) add as an assistant element, helping to warm the channels, stop bleeding, disperse cold and regulate menstruation. No dedicated envoy herb appears in this recipe, the actions being balanced among the active ingredients themselves. The overall effect is to warm the stomach, dispel cold, relieve pain, restoring balance within the cold framework.
