Drug Formulation
1 sheng of Strychnos nux-vomica seeds (sun-dried, pounded, and sifted); half a jin of fresh ginger (extract the juice).

Instructions for Use
Combine the two ingredients in a silver pot, then gradually add 2 sheng of ash-free wine. Simmer over high heat until the mixture thickens to the consistency of syrup; immediately add more wine as needed, continuing until the total volume of wine used reaches 5 sheng. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the mixture can be formed into pills. Roll into pills the size of a paulownia seed. If the mixture sticks to your hands while forming the pills, use dodder powder as a barrier between your hands and the mixture. Avoid excessive heat; if the medicine burns, it will lose its efficacy.Take 3 pills every morning, washed down with wine; gradually increase the dose to 5–7 pills. Do not be alarmed if you experience a slight fever upon first taking the medicine; for severe cases, diarrhea should occur within 3 days of taking the medicine, and the diarrhea will cease once the illness subsides.
