2. For contusions and bruises: Immediately after injury, use fresh Guangxi Meidengmu and raw Chinese chive roots in appropriate amounts. Wash the herbs, crush them into a paste, apply to the affected area, and secure with a bandage; change the dressing every 2–3 days. After one week, crush Guangxi Meidengmu, rhubarb, and turmeric into a paste, add 100 ml of rice wine, and stir-fry in an iron pot until golden brown. Morphological Characteristics
Guangxi Meidengmu is a shrub 1–3 m tall. Young branches are purplish-red. Leaves are alternate; petioles are purplish-red; leaf blades are thick papery, ovate or oblong-elliptic, 7–20 cm long and 3.5–10 cm wide, with an acute or obtuse apex, a base that is often broadly rounded or nearly circular, 8–9 lateral veins, and margins that are undulate both above and below.Cymes are branched two to four times, bearing 7–25 flowers; flowers are small and hermaphroditic, with 5 ovate sepals, approximately 1.5 mm long and 1 mm wide; 5 oblong petals, 3–4 mm long and 2–2.5 mm wide; and 5 stamens. The capsule is 1.2–1.7 cm long and usually 3-chambered.Each capsule contains 3–6 seeds, which are elliptical or ovoid, 6–8 mm long, and possess a pseudocarp. Flowering occurs from September to October, and fruiting from October to November.
