60 grams of honeysuckle vine, 20 grams of honey.Main Ingredients
How To Make
Wash the honeysuckle vines thoroughly, then sun-dry or oven-dry them. Cut them into 1-centimeter-long pieces, place them in a clay pot, and soak in water for a short while. Add an appropriate amount of water as needed. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Strain the liquid through clean cheesecloth, stir in honey while still warm, and mix well to serve.

Honeysuckle vine (Ren-dong-teng) holds the chief position in this formula. Sweet-cold in property, it travels through the Lung, Stomach, Large Intestine meridians, and works to clear heat and remove toxins, unblock the meridians. Honey (Feng-mi) plays the envoy role, unifying the formula, working to moisten the lung and harmonize the formula and unite the separate actions into one. Taken together these herbs clear heat and dispel wind, promote diuresis and unblock the meridians, in keeping with the heat pattern and its manifestations such as redness, swelling.
