Chinese Name : 安息香汤
Drug Formulation
1 qian of benzoin, 1 qian of musk (ground), 3 liang of skullcap (roasted with butter until yellow), 1 liang of Chinese gentian (stems and soil removed), 1 liang of softshell turtle shell (edges removed, roasted until yellow), 1 liang of Chinese angelica (sliced, dried), 1 liang of Bupleurum (stems removed).

Grind the ingredients into a coarse powder.

Instructions for Use
Take 4 qian per dose, along with one and a half zhan of children’s urine, 5 cun of scallion whites, 7 cun each of peach and willow twigs, and 2 slices of ginger (each the size of a qian coin). Decoct together until reduced to 8 fen, strain out the residue, and take at any time. Before going to bed at night, decoct the mixture again and place it at the patient’s bedside; by the fifth watch, the effects will manifest in dreams—this is a sign that the medicine is working.
