Drug Formulation

Half liang of Bupleurum, half liang of Gentiana, half liang of Asafoetida, one handful of Dongyin, one handful of peach twigs, one handful of Artemisia annua, half fen of licorice (roasted), and 1 liang of areca nut (raw, ground into powder; divide into 3 doses to be taken sequentially).

Instructions for Use

Soak the ingredients in 2 sheng of a young boy’s urine overnight; by morning, decoct until reduced to 1 sheng, strain out the residue, and divide into 3 doses. For each dose, mix in the prepared areca nut powder evenly, take warm on an empty stomach, and walk several tens of li before taking the next dose. After taking 1–2 doses, if vomiting or diarrhea occurs, stop taking the medicine; if no vomiting occurs, proceed to the third dose.If the disease is in the upper part of the body, it will cause vomiting; if in the lower part, it will cause the expulsion of foul matter—such as worms of unusual color or strands resembling tangled silk or hair.

Note

Avoid wheat-based foods, fatty foods, scallions, and similar items.
