Decoction for Dissolving Masses and Harmonizing the Stomach,After drinking alcohol and experiencing anger, pain occurs under the left flank at the level of the navel. From then on, a small mass gradually forms; it may or may not become prominent. When prominent, it causes pain; when the pain subsides, it recedes. The patient exhibits a sallow complexion, a dry mouth, weakness, and poor appetite. After eating, the patient belches the same flavor as the food consumed. The patient becomes increasingly sensitive to wind and cold. The pulse on the left side is stronger than on the right, taut,涩, and long; generally, the left side is more severe, and upon deeper palpation, the entire pulse is taut.

Drug Formulation

3 qian of ginseng, 1.5 qian of white atractylodes, 1 qian of tangerine peel, 0.5 fen of peony root, 0.5 fen of angelica root, 0.3 fen of dried kudzu root, safflower the size of a bean, and 2 qian of licorice (roasted).
