Drug Formulation

Cinnamon Twig 1 liang 16 zhu (peeled), Peony Root 1 liang, Ginger (sliced) 1 liang, Licorice (roasted) 1 liang, Ephedra (knots removed) 1 liang, Jujubes 4 (split), Apricot Kernels 24 (soaked in hot water, peeled, tips removed, and those with two kernels discarded).

Instructions for Use

Take 5 sheng of water; first boil Ephedra for 1–2 boils, skim off the foam, then add the remaining herbs. Simmer until reduced to 1 sheng and 8 he, strain out the residue, and take 6 he while warm. The original text states: 3 he of Cinnamon Twig Decoction and 3 he of Ephedra Decoction, taken all at once. Follow the rest and recuperation guidelines as described above.
