Drug Formulation

Angelica sinensis (chopped) 1 liang,Tritelophis carinata seeds (chopped) 1 liang, Red peony root 1 liang, Tiantai Wuyao (chopped) 1 liang, Vegetable oil 4 liang, Amber (crushed and ground) 1 liang, Frankincense (ground) 2 liang, Orpiment (sifted) 10 liang, Bitumen 6 liang, Myrrh 2 liang, Dragon’s blood (ground separately) half a liang.

Processing

First, steep the first four ingredients in vegetable oil for seven days and seven nights, then strain out the residue. Next, place the frankincense and asphalt in an iron pot and simmer over low heat until they are completely dissolved. Periodically check the consistency; as needed, add the previously infused medicinal oil, adjusting the amount accordingly. Once the mixture reaches the desired consistency, strain it through cotton into a basin of water. When the liquid turns white, immediately add the orpiment and stir until the color is uniform. Store in a porcelain basin.
