Formulas Name : Epilepsy-Curing Pill

Chinese Name : 断痫丹

Drug Formulation

Method: 2 liang of Pinellia tuber, 1 liang 5 qian of stiff silkworm (roasted), 1 liang of Southern Aconite (roasted), 1 liang of black snake meat (roasted), 5 qian of White Aconite (roasted), 2 qian of whole scorpion, 1 qian 5 fen of realgar, and 3 fen of centipede.

Processing

Boil 4 liang of soapberry in water until the liquid is reduced to 1 liang; then use this liquid to boil 1 liang of white alum until dry; grind both into a fine powder and sift through a sieve.

Benefits

Indications: Phlegm obscuring the orifices of the mind; epilepsy; convulsions of the limbs; fainting and falling to the ground; foaming at the mouth; and loss of consciousness.

Instructions for Use

For every 8 liang 3 qian 8 fen of the fine powder, mix in 3 qian of musk, 1 qian of pearl powder, and 2 qian of cinnabar. Grind into a fine powder and blend thoroughly, then mix with refined honey to form pills weighing 1 qian each. Take 2 pills per dose, washed down with warm water.
