Drug Formulation

Curcuma zedoaria (ground separately to a flour-like consistency): 5 qian; Agarwood (ground separately to a flour-like consistency): 3 qian; Asparagus root (core removed, washed with wine, steamed): 2 liang; White peony root (stir-fried with wine): 3 liang; Poria cocos (core removed): 4 liang; Polygala root (soaked in licorice juice, steamed): 2 liang; Ophiopogon tuber (core removed): 2 liang;roasted licorice 6 qian, Inula flower 1 liang 5 qian, genuine Perilla seed (ground) 1 liang, Cyperus rhizome (soaked in vinegar, sun-dried, mixed with children’s urine, and stir-fried on a tile) 3 liang, Pinellia tuber (mixed with ginger juice and soaked with a small amount of alum powder) 2 liang, soapberry pod (free of worms, black skin removed, stir-fried with ghee, seeds removed, and ground into powder) 2 liang.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder and mix thoroughly. Form into pills the size of peas using a paste made from Huai yam powder. Coat each pill with 1 liang of cinnabar (ground according to standard method).

Take 3 qian per dose, washed down with hot water mixed with bamboo sap.
