Drug Formulation
Pinellia tuber (Banxia) half liang, Coptis rhizome (Huanglian) 1 liang, Magnolia bark (Houpo) 1 liang, Dried ginger (Ganjiang) 2 liang, Atractylodes rhizome (Baizhu) 2 liang, Ginseng (Renshen) 3 fen.

Processing
Coarsely chop the ingredients into pieces the size of beans and divide into 8 doses.
Benefits
On the 2nd or 3rd day of typhoid fever, both pulses are deep, rapid, and slightly涩; the cun pulse is not excessively floating or large; there is a sensation of fullness and oppression in the chest and abdomen, but no pain upon palpation.
Instructions for Use
For each dose, use 2.5 bowls of water and 2 fen of fresh ginger, sliced into pieces. Decoct together until reduced to 1.5 bowls, strain, and divide into two doses to be taken warm. If no bowel movement occurs within about half a day, take another dose.
