Drug Formulation
1 donkey hoof, 1 jin of large-scaled fish, 1 jin of Phytolacca acinosa, 3 goat horns, 1 liang of Datura metel, 1 liang of Strychnos nux-vomica, 1 liang of Bletilla striata, 1 liang of Strychnos nux-vomica (variety), 1 liang of Euphorbia pekinensis, 1 liang of bee hive (exposed to dew), 1 liang of Polygonum cuspidatum, 1 liang of Safflower, 1 liang of Scrophularia ningpoensis, 1 liang of Safflower wood, 1 liang of peach kernels,1 liang of snake shed, 2 liang of Angelica sinensis root tips, 2 liang of yellow cow horn and cheek, 2 liang of croton seed pulp, 2 liang of dried toad skin, 2 liang of pig’s hoof nails, 2 liang of Pinellia ternata, 2 liang of Pinellia tuber, 2 liang of pangolin scales, 3 liang of rhubarb, 4 liang of Tetraphyllum seed, 4 liang of Xanthium fruit, 4 liang of tender shoots, 1 golden-threaded hanging toad.

Processing
Use 4 jin of sesame oil; simmer with the herbs until charred, then strain out the residue. Continue simmering until a drop of the oil forms a bead when held up to the light. For every 1 jin of finished oil, add 8 liang of roasted official powder to form a paste. Then add 3 qian each of frankincense (de-oiled), myrrh (de-oiled), musk, rutaceae, and mercuric oxide; grind finely, stir thoroughly, and store.

Instructions for Use
To treat swollen, toxic areas that have not yet ruptured, apply the ointment to the affected area and sprinkle the powdered medicine over it; to treat hard lumps, prick the affected area three times with a needle in a “pin” (品) character pattern. Externally, use equal parts of asafoetida, centipede, pangolin scales, and musk, ground into a fine powder. Weigh out just 1 fen of this mixture and sprinkle it into the needle pricks; apply the remainder mixed with the ointment to the area;For treating wind-induced disorders, use 5 qian of Naoyanghua, mix it with rice wine, sun-dry it three times, roast it until crisp, and grind it into a fine powder; add 3 fen of musk, mix thoroughly with milk, and apply the mixture to the ointment before applying the patch.
