Drug Formulation

Cinnabar 1 liang, musk half a liang, realgar 2 qian and a half, yellow丹 2 qian and a half, croton seed 2 fen (remove skin and oil), blister beetle 2 qian and a half (remove head and legs; use half raw and half roasted), centipede 2 (one raw, one cooked; finely grind each of the above 7 ingredients), bitter medicine seed 2 qian and a half, mountain bean root 1 liang,续随子 2 qian and a half (remove skin, use raw).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix thoroughly, and use glutinous rice cooked into a paste to form pills the size of a fish eye (10 jin).

Instructions for Use

Each pill can save 5 men and 3 women. Whenever poisoning occurs in the early stages, have the patient chew raw black beans to confirm the diagnosis; then immediately administer one pill with clear Zhenla tea. Shortly thereafter, the patient will hear a sound in their chest as if a leather strap were snapping; the toxin will exit through the eyes, mouth, and nose or be expelled via the stool. If poisoning is recent, it manifests as blood; if prolonged, it forms worms. Wash the medicine thoroughly, store it, and reuse it;For all poisonings caused by snakes, scorpions, centipedes, or horse sweat, grind the medicine with good vinegar to form a paste and apply it to the affected area for immediate relief. It is customary to prepare this remedy on the Dragon Boat Festival; if that is not possible, the Ninth Day of the Ninth Month is also acceptable.

Note

Strictly avoid alcohol, meat, and toxic substances for one month.
