Drug Formulation

Mustard leaves 3 liang, Angelica sinensis 3 liang, Angelica dahurica 3 liang, Stephania root 3 liang, Sichuan pepper (for inducing sweating; remove the seeds and close the pods) 3 liang, Evodia fruit (washed in boiling water, dried in an oven, and stir-fried) 4 liang,Salvia miltiorrhiza 4 liang, Ligusticum chuanxiong 4 liang, Phytolacca acinosa root (sliced) 4 liang, Aquilaria agallocha 3 liang, Aquilaria sinensis 3 liang, Linglingcao 3 liang, Cinnamomum cassia 3 liang, Rhinoceros horn shavings 3 liang, Aconite root (peeled, dry-roasted).

Processing

Coarsely chop the ingredients, wrap them in fresh cotton, and place them in a clean vessel. Add 3 sheng of vinegar and soak overnight. Remove the mixture and add 2 jin of clarified butter to the pot. Simmer over alternating high and low heat, stirring three times at the top and three times at the bottom, until the mixture changes color and reaches the desired consistency. Strain out the residue, mix thoroughly, pour into a porcelain bottle, and seal the top with honey.
