Benefits

At the onset of typhoid fever, food stagnation is inevitable. If, upon palpation of the patient’s chest and abdomen, there is a slight sensation of distension, oppression, or pain, this indicates the disease. If food and drink remain stagnant over time, it can develop into “chest constriction” (which is fatal) or symptoms such as chest fullness and distension. This treatment is effective for men, women, the elderly, and children suffering from food stagnation, qi stagnation, or phlegm condensation causing cold pain.

Instructions for Use

Add 2 liang of lead powder (the type used by lacquerers) to the two types of residue, grind until uniform, and heat in a wok with oil until extremely hot. Wrap tightly in a cloth, then massage and apply heat to the swollen area in a direction that follows the flow of qi. First apply through the cloth, then press directly against the skin and apply heat again. If the mixture cools, mix in ginger and scallion juice, stir until smooth, heat briefly in the wok, and apply heat multiple times until the patient feels completely relieved.
