4 qian of Vitex leaf, 4 qian of Acorus tatarinowii, 4 qian of Eupatorium fortunei, 4 qian of Dongping mint, 2.5 qian of Ligusticum chuanxiong, 2 qian of Lepidium saponaria, 2.5 qian of Asarum sieboldii.

Benefits

For stroke resulting in loss of consciousness, deviation of the mouth and eyes, obstruction by phlegm and saliva, and hemiplegia; as well as sudden stroke or epilepsy, including yin-type cold damage characterized by cold, blue fingers, and the sudden onset of various eye diseases.

Instructions for Use

First, have the patient drink one bowl of scallion tea; then, have them hold water in their mouth while using a finger to pinch a small amount of the powdered medicine and blow it into the nostrils. If the patient’s hands are unable to move, use a reed tube to blow the medicine in. Phlegm, saliva, and nasal discharge will be expelled immediately, and relief will be felt right away. If, after three applications, no phlegm or nasal discharge is expelled, the condition is difficult to treat; in such cases, it is best to administer herbs that regulate the flow of qi orally.
