Drug Formulation
1 liang of Angelica sinensis, 1 liang of Chuanxiong, 1 liang of Astragalus, 1 liang of Angelica dahurica, 1 liang of Cynanchum atratum, 1 liang of Apricot Kernel, 1 liang of Gleditsia seed, 1 liang of Cinnamomum cassia, 1 liang of Frankincense, 1 liang of Myrrh, 5 qian of ash from tangled hair, 5 jin of Orpiment and refined oil.

Processing
Finely chop the ingredients, soak them in the oil overnight, then simmer over a charcoal fire until the White Angelica and Apricot Kernels turn charred. Strain out the residue, clarify the liquid, and simmer again. When the oil boils, add the Orpiment; stir continuously with a damp willow basket, then drip the mixture into water—if the droplets form beads that do not disperse, remove from the heat. Wait for one shichen, then add Frankincense, Myrrh, and Hair Ash, stirring until well blended. Store in a porcelain box.
