Drug Formulation

3 liang of Atractylodes macrocephala, 1 liang of Zhi Shi (roasted with wheat bran), 1 liang of Atractylodes lancea (soaked in rice washing water for two nights), 1 liang of Poria cocos (peeled), 1 liang of roasted wheat bran, 1 liang of roasted Shenqu, 1 liang of Pinellia ternata (soaked thoroughly in hot water), 7 fen of Alisma orientale (hairs removed), 7 fen of red Poria cocos (peeled),Chuanxiong 7 fen, Coptis (roasted with aged wall soil, soil removed) 7 fen, White Snail Shell (calcined) 7 fen, Cardamom 5 qian, Amomum (roasted) 5 qian, Scutellaria (roasted with aged wall soil, soil removed) 5 qian, Green Tangerine Peel (white pith removed) 5 qian,Radish Seeds (roasted) 5 qian, Dried Ginger 5 qian, Fresh Ginger 5 qian, Dried Tangerine Peel (white pith removed) 3 qian, Cyperus Rhizome (soaked in a child’s urine) 3 qian, Trichosanthes Seed 3 qian, Magnolia Bark (processed with ginger juice, then roasted) 3 qian, Areca Nut 3 qian, Wood Fragrance 2 qian, Licorice 2 qian.

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Soak late-harvested japonica rice in water infused with green lotus leaves, then pound it into a paste to form pills the size of a tung tree seed.
