1 liang of reed-sweetened gypsum, 1 qian of Coptis, 2 qian of Phellodendron, and 2 qian of Scutellaria.

Processing

Decoct the “Three Huang” ingredients to a concentrated decoction; place the calamine in a silver pot and heat until it glows bright red, then add the decoction. Repeat this process about 9 times until the calamine becomes soft and greasy; dry in the sun, grind into a fine powder, and add 5 fen of borneol.

Effective for mouth sores and lower-jaw ulcers.

Instructions for Use

Excellent for treating mouth sores and as an eye ointment. Add a small amount of pearl to treat genital sores; it promotes tissue regeneration and healing. For all cases of heat-toxin, combine with the “Three Whites” formula (1 tiao each of Poria, Coptis, and Phellodendron), mix with breast milk, and apply as a poultice.
