Drug Formulation

4 liang of Gastrodia elata, 2 liang of Saposhnikovia divaricata (stem removed), 2.5 liang of ox bile-processed Pinellia ternata, 2.5 liang of stir-fried silkworm pupae, 2.5 liang of whole scorpions, 5 qian of raw Aconite root and dried Luffa (i.e., loofah), 5 qian of Sichuan Aconite, 2 liang of Polygala tenuifolia (core removed), 3 liang of Sichuan tortoise shell (stir-fried with clam powder),Cicada Sheds 2 liang (soil removed), Artemisia Moth (as needed), Cinnabar (boiled in Tiankui) 1 liang, Realgar 1 liang (these two ingredients ground separately), Rhinoceros Horn (finely ground) 5 qian,centipede 3 qian, toad venom 5 fen (ground separately), agarwood 3 qian, Asarum 5 qian, dragon’s tooth 5 qian, amber 2 qian (ground separately), pearl 3 qian (ground separately), Indian saffron 3 qian, gecko 1 pair, gold leaf 10 sheets, silver leaf 10 sheets.

Processing

Prepare and clean each of the above herbs, then grind them into a fine powder; for external use, take 1 jin of Schizonepeta, 1 jin of Ephedra, 1 jin of Akebia, half a jin of Soapberry, 4 liang of Licorice, and 4 liang of Xanthium seeds. Simmer these six ingredients into a paste, mix in genuine butter and oil, and combine with refined honey to form pills the size of a water caltrop. Coat them with gold and silver foil and seal with wax.
