Drug Formulation

7 cloves, 1 qian of musk, 50 belladonna seeds, 7 male mouse droppings (those pointed at both ends; stir-fry with 2 spoons of wheat bran until the bran turns blackish-yellow, then remove the bran and use the droppings),3 blister beetles (remove wings and legs; stir-fry with glutinous rice until yellow; discard the rice and use the beetles), 3 jin of oak bark (remove the coarse outer layer, pound into pieces, then finely chop; simmer in 2 dou of water until reduced to 4 sheng; strain, re-simmer until it becomes a paste, then add the remaining ingredients).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a powder. When the decoction of oak bark has cooled to a lukewarm temperature, add the other ingredients, stir until well blended, and store in a porcelain container.

Scrofula.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 spoonfuls per dose on an empty stomach, mixed with 1 cup of warm wine. After swallowing, take another dose mixed with clear, warm wine. Lie on your back; the mass will be expelled shortly thereafter. If the condition has been chronic for many years, the expelled mass will resemble a toad’s skin or fish intestines; if recent, it will resemble clam meat. After vomiting, rinse your mouth with warm water and replenish with light millet congee; if millet is unavailable, other grains may be used.

Note

Avoid all toxic substances for over a month.
