They cause heart pain and restlessness, an inability to eat or drink, and symptoms that come and go intermittently. Each episode brings excruciating pain; when caused by cold qi, there is vomiting and distension beneath the heart;when caused by cold energy, vomiting occurs along with distension and fullness beneath the heart; when caused by heat energy, the patient experiences confusion and disorientation, as if constantly dizzy, and may suffer from seminal emission; when caused by anger, the patient cannot tolerate heat, the illness surges upward to the heart, causing shortness of breath so severe it feels as if one might die, and an inability to breathe; when caused by resentment, the mass accumulates beneath the heart, preventing the intake of food or drink; when caused by joy, the patient cannot walk briskly or stand for long periods;When affected by a feeling of sorrow, one must not engage in strenuous labor and cannot rest comfortably in bed; when affected by a feeling of rage, one experiences anger and forgetfulness, scattering belongings about and forgetting where they were placed, with swelling in the soles of the feet and hands and limbs that cannot be raised. Instructions for Use
Take 3 pills each time, washed down with wine, three times a day. If no effect is felt, gradually increase the dose until a response is observed, up to a maximum of 10 pills.
