Drug Formulation
5 jin of Magnolia Bark, 3 jin of Sodium Silicate (preferably snow-white), 1.5 jin of Talc, 1 jin of Jade Spring Stone, 1 jin of Gypsum, 5 jin of Brine (in the form of ice), 1 jin of Water-Coagulating Stone (snow-white), 5 sheng of frozen ice water, 1 sheng of frost water, 1 sheng of snow water, 5.5 sheng of dew, 5 sheng of cold spring water, 1 sheng of rainwater, and 5.5 sheng of east-flowing water.

Instructions for Use
Pound the first seven ingredients separately and sift them coarsely;for the latter seven ingredients, clarify them until clear; place the powder of the aforementioned seven ingredients into a copper vessel, decoct over an extremely low flame to yield 7 sheng, let it settle overnight until clear, then transfer it to a clean porcelain crucible and store it in a clean place; seal the opening with a thick silk cloth for 120 days. It will solidify like frozen ice, taking the form of white quartz with eight facets. When fully formed, some may be as large as a thumb, and some may be 1 chi long; this is called “Seven-Water Ice.”For those experiencing fever after taking mineral remedies, mix this with well water and take 5 fen per dose; a single dose will immediately subdue severe fever. For fever due to typhoid, take one daogui; for children with fever, give an amount the size of a sesame seed.
Note
Do not use in excess; seven days after the fever subsides following medication, one must strictly avoid alcohol, meat, and pungent spices.
