Drug Formulation

1 fen of Indigo Powder, 1 areca nut, 1 fen of Wood Fragrance, half a fen of Musk (finely ground), 1 liang of Coptis (stems removed), half a liang of Croton Seed, half a liang of Sichuan Rhubarb (coarsely chopped, lightly roasted), half a liang of Soft-shelled Turtle Carapace (coated with vinegar, roasted until yellow, edges removed), 1 nutmeg (shell removed).

Processing

First, take the two ingredients—Coptis and Croton—and boil them in 3 bowls of diluted whey until all the liquid has evaporated. Allow to dry, then remove the Croton, discard the skin and core, and grind it into a paste. Wrap it in paper and press to remove the oil. Dry the Coptis in the sun, then pound it together with the other ingredients and sift into a fine powder. Mix with pig bile to form pills the size of a sesame seed.

Instructions for Use

For children aged 1–2 years, take 1 pill per dose on an empty stomach, washed down with congee; for children aged 3–4 years, take 3–4 pills per dose, once every 3 days. The treatment is effective when the pathogenic matter is expelled. Subsequently, take the Haritaki Pills to replenish the body.
