Drug Formulation
Jing Sanling 1 liang, Peng’e Zhu 1 liang, Jiegeng 1 liang, Da Huang 1 liang, Chen Jupi 1 liang (washed with warm water), Banxia 1 piece (split into two slices), Baizhu 1 liang (chopped together with the preceding ingredients to the size of soapberry seeds), Xuanfu Hua 1 liang,Turtle Shell (with skirt removed) 2 liang (cut into 4 pieces), Lepidium Seed 1.5 liang (rinsed clean, placed in a raw silk bag), Perilla Leaf 1 liang, Wood Fragrance 3 liang (ground dry), Agarwood 0.5 liang (finely chopped, used raw), Barley Sprout 1 liang (lightly roasted),half a liang of areca nut (used raw), half a liang of imported anise (rinsed with water to remove soil, weighed dry), 1.5 liang of borax (finely ground and chopped; place in a porcelain container with the other herbs, soak in 3 sheng of rice vinegar, then simmer in a double boiler to reduce to 2.5 sheng).

Processing
Take the decoction from the above ingredients, dry it in one batch, sift it, and mix it with the raw herbs. Exclude Wood Fragrance, Agarwood, Barley Sprouts, Fennel, and Areca Nut—these are not boiled in vinegar; all others are boiled together. Dry, pound, and sift into a fine powder. Mix with a paste made from the decoction vinegar and water, blend thoroughly, and place in a mortar to pound vigorously into pills the size of a Paulownia seed.

Take 20 pills per dose, washed down with warm boiled water; for women suffering from blood- or qi-related chest pain, take with a decoction of stir-fried ginger and vinegar.
