Drug Formulation

1 qian of cinnabar, 1 qian of powdered mercury, 1 qian of mercuric oxide, half a qian of ox bile, 1 zi of borneol, 1 zi of musk.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder and form into pills the size of a Paulownia seed using glutinous rice paste.

Benefits

For acute convulsions in children, characterized by rolling eyes upward and twitching of the hands and feet.

Instructions for Use

For children aged 2–3.5 years, administer half a pill per dose; for those aged 4–5 years, administer one pill per dose. Dissolve in a decoction of gold, silver, and mint; for infants under one month old, divide one pill into four doses; for those under 100 days old, divide one pill into three doses. Adjust the dosage according to the child’s age, constitution, and the severity of the illness.
