Drug Formulation

1 jin of oil, 6 liang of lead丹 (ground), 1 qian of musk (ground), 3 fen of talcum powder (ground), 3 fen of beeswax, 1.5 liang of liquidambar resin, half a liang of cinnabar (finely ground), half a liang of salt, 1 liang of white angelica (chopped), 1 liang of frankincense (ground), 1 liang of angelica sinensis (roasted and chopped),Cinnamon (coarse bark removed, coarsely chopped) 1 liang, Ligusticum (coarsely chopped) 1 liang, Artemisia (stems and soil removed, coarsely chopped) 1 liang, Asarum (stems and leaves removed, coarsely chopped) 1 liang, Alumbite (ground) 1 liang.

Processing

First, heat the oil until it boils; then add the six coarsely chopped herbs, including Angelica dahurica. Simmer until the Angelica dahurica turns reddish-black, then strain out the mixture. Add the wax and Liquidambar resin, and wait until they are completely melted. Filter through cotton to remove the residue,then add lead丹, mitasang, and frankincense; stir and simmer with a willow whisk until the mixture turns black and forms beads when dropped into water. Immediately add salt, cinnabar, and musk powder, stir until uniform, pour into a porcelain basin, and place on a clean surface overnight to remove the heat toxicity.

Instructions for Use

Apply by spreading the ointment on a piece of old cloth and applying it to the affected area once a day until healed.
