Formulas Name : Pine Nut Decoction

Chinese Name : 柏子仁汤

Drug Formulation

Pine Nut Kernels (soaked in wine overnight, then sun-dried) 1.5 liang, Cinnamon Bark (coarse outer bark removed) 1.5 liang, Ginseng 1.5 liang, White Atractylodes (soaked in rice water overnight, chopped, and stir-fried) 1.5 liang, Dried Ginger (roasted) 1.5 liang, Licorice (roasted) 1.5 liang, Fangfeng (branches removed) 1.5 liang,Yam 1.5 liang, Aged Tangerine Peel (soaked in boiling water, white pith removed, and baked) 1.5 liang, Ligusticum Root 1.5 liang, Peony Root 1.5 liang, Astragalus Root 1.5 liang, Magnetite (calcined and quenched in vinegar 7 times) 1.5 liang, Aconite Root (roasted until cracked, skin and pith removed) 1.5 liang, Poria (black skin removed) 1.5 liang.

Instructions for Use

Coarsely crush the ingredients. For each dose, take 3 qian bi. First, boil one sheep’s kidney in 3 zhan of water; strain to obtain 1 zhan of broth. Remove the kidney, add the herbs, and add 1 jujube-sized piece of ginger (crushed). Simmer together until the volume is reduced to 7 fen. Strain and take warm before meals.
